For a bunny! Yes, that's right. After much research and anticipation (especially on my part, if I do say so myself) we now have a new member of the family. Although we have not yet adopted this adorable bunny, we will foster her until somebody decides to adopt her. We are going through the House of Rabbits Society, Singapore, who rescues abandoned rabbits and fosters and rehomes them. This beautiful girl was let tied up outside, and picked up by someone who actually works for Action for Singapore Dogs (where we adopted Bauer from). She could not keep her due to the amount of dogs she has, so we are now fostering her.
She is small and soft, and as you can see, she is allowing us to pick up and pet her. We will work on litter training her, and obviously getting her used to Bauer (who is very excited about the new animal and food). She seems very calm, but it could be because she is still tired from the surgery - sterilization. She has a bare patch on the back of her neck, but you can't see it in any of these pictures. We are guessing it is from the leash that she was tied to when she was abandoned. We will take better pictures of her as she settles in and when it is daylight, but for now we need a name. I thought - since our family is having a disagreement - that we should put a little pole on the blog.
So, we have narrowed it down to two names (I won't say who is on what side), but are welcoming any serious suggestions any of you have (serious meaning not "Mrs. Wabbit"...like Leah's suggestion). Here are the two names:
Jackie (because Bauer is named after the character in 24 "Jack Bauer", so Jackie as the feminine form of Jack)
Autumn (because of her coloring, and it is autumn now and we miss the beautiful season)
Please let us know what you think as soon as possible, as we can't wait TOO long to name her.
Thanks and miss all of you!
Jane

I am so happy that you guys got a bunny!!! You definately should name her Autumn! To think that the whole bunny thing started with our family and our litter of baby bunnies! :) Willow says hi from Newburyport... she misses you guys! She is getting to run around in the yard a bit and she loves it! (You can call to her and say "Run, Willow, Run!" and run right past her, inches away, and she will race around the yard with you! It is very cute!
All the best to "Autumn" with her new family, I know she will get love you guys, who doesn't?
Hey Guys!
I miss you all so much, and I'm so happy that you get to be part of this great program. I vote for Autumn, that has always been one of my all time favorite names.Whatever you decided to name her, she is still the most beautiful and luckiest bunny in the world for having such a great foster family!
Love from Newburyport,
Bryna (and family)
Jane, you look so happy with your little orphan. She could not have a better family to give her all the love she needs to become a great pet. It looks like "Autumn" is in the lead, and I also like the name. But I think an animal responds better to a harder sounding name and "Jackie" would work. So, if you would like her to come when you call, try "Jackie".
Love,
Grammy
jackie is a better name...and btw, it was so obvious reading the descriptions for the two names that you wanted to name it Autumn. You made the autumn description so much better and we did not want to name it Jackie because of 24, it was because it was a good name, 24 has nothing to to do with it.

Jane: Since you older siblings cannot agree, "Mrs. Wabbit" should win by default. People in Singapore, however, may think you have a speech impediment when you call her...
Your Godfather
Hooray for the bunny! She is so cute and looks right at home with you! I like the name Autumn too. I'll show the kids tomorrow morning and see what they like or come up with! Enjoy your new furry friend!
Hi Jane - we're with Leah and vote for Mrs. Wabbit :) just kidding! We had to say that :) We think you should name her Autumn. It feels a little like autumn here today. XOXOXOX Elizabeth & Jane
PS: don't let Evan bother you :)
Hello Petty's, long time no see or talk (from my perspective). Congratulations on the new family member... Jackie is an awesome name and since i have a slight age advantage over some of Jane's friends, my vote counts for four in the current poll. Hope all is well and I will chat with everyone soon.
